The Emerald Lakes is a gated subdivision consisting of single-family homes, many of which are lakefront and have private swimming pools. There are seven “emerald lakes” throughout the community, which are lushly landscaped, stocked with fish, and a few host water features. The community park has swing sets, a picnic pavilion, and a basketball court. A large refreshing swimming pool nearby is surrounded by a spacious sun deck and lined with towering palm trees. There are also double tennis courts that are lighted for nighttime play during the heat of the summer.
Two world-class golf courses border both the eastern and western boundaries of Emerald Lakes for golf enthusiasts. Towards the east, the Emerald Bay Club is a 72-par play by Bob Cupp, formerly with Jack Nicklaus Designs. To the west is the Regatta Bay Club. This course was designed by Robert C. Walker, who is an acclaimed designer and former architect for famed golf great Arnold Palmer. The white beaches of the Gulf of Mexico are just minutes away. Destin Commons as well as other shopping, dining, attractions, and everything else both Destin and Miramar Beach have to offer are also within Emerald Lakes’ easy access.
